On July 9, 2025, Busan City officially announced the East Busan E-Park (Phase 2) project, with a scale of 1.14 million square meters, through the 'Industrial Complex Designation Plan Notice'. This decision was made after passing the Ministry of Land's demand verification and the Industrial Location Policy Review Committee's examination.

Currently, the Jang-an-eup area has nine industrial complexes in operation, such as Jang-an, Myeongnye, and Banryong General Industrial Complexes, employing over 10,000 workers. With the completion of the Southeast Region Radiological Medical Science General Industrial Complex (approximately 1.48 million square meters) by the end of this year, a significant increase in manpower demand is expected.

However, existing industrial complexes have consistently faced issues such as transport inconvenience, lack of housing, and insufficient amenities due to their distance from downtown. To address these issues, Busan City decided to simultaneously build a 'support complex' equipped with residential and living facilities along with the new industrial complex.

Pushing for ‘special supply’ of apartments for industrial complex workers

Jang-an Residential Development District

The support complex is expected to occupy an area of approximately 270,000 square meters near the Jang-an Residential Development District. This area will include around 1,900 units of multi-family housing and single-family housing lots. Notably, workers from companies entering the industrial complex will receive a special supply benefit equivalent to 50% of the total multi-family housing.

This 'work-live balance' system is anticipated to positively impact by reducing fatigue from long commutes, attracting young workers, and improving the settlement rate of businesses. Additionally, within the support complex, educational, cultural, and commercial facilities will be established, developing it into a self-sufficient residential area with an improved living environment.

Such changes are expected to invigorate the local community and bring economic benefits.

These processes are vital steps for obtaining approval for the industrial complex plan and will facilitate the smooth progression of the project.
