Income Criteria Increase! Additional 500 Participants for the 'Lifelong Together Youth Project' for Youth and Newlyweds

Happy Housing in front of Busan City Hall

The city of Busan is recruiting additional participants for the housing stability project 'Lifelong Together Youth Housing Support Project' aimed at youth and newlyweds. This recruitment will take place from May 5 to 25, 2025, for 500 households.

This additional recruitment is a continuation of the first round held in March, characterized by a significant relaxation of income criteria and an extension of the support period to a maximum of 'lifetime' based on the number of children.

More detailed information can be found in the post below.

Income Criteria Relaxed to '100%' for Youth and Newlyweds

Recruitment of Additional 500 Participants for the Busan Youth Project

The most notable change in this additional recruitment is the expansion of the income criteria. Previously, a youth was subject to 60% and newlyweds to 80% of the criteria; now, both groups are relaxed to a threshold of '100% of the previous year's average monthly income per household size in urban areas.'

Thanks to this change, more young people and newlyweds will have the opportunity to receive support.

Main Eligibility Requirements and Target Participants

The target participants can be broadly divided into two categories. The first category is unmarried individuals aged 19 to 39 residing in Busan's public rental housing. The second category includes newlyweds who have been married for 7 years or less and also reside in public rental housing.

The income criteria are based on health insurance premiums. For example, for employees, a one-person household must have income below 128,122 won, a two-person household below 196,183 won, a three-person household below 271,465 won, and finally, a four-person household below 311,026 won. Additionally, for dual-income newlyweds, only half of the lower earning spouse's health insurance premium is considered. Lastly, those currently participating in similar programs such as housing assistance or youth monthly rent support will be excluded from the support.
