The traditional market parking environment improvement project consists of various measures. This includes establishing new public parking lots or renovating and upgrading existing parking lots. Additionally, support for parking fees at public and private parking lots near the markets will also be provided.

This project is conducted based on Article 2 of the "Special Act on the Promotion of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts," targeting specific areas such as traditional markets, shopping districts, and alley-type shopping streets. These efforts are expected to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy, providing convenience for both merchants and consumers.

Jangnim Alley Market

The budget allocation for parking-related expenses is as follows: For the establishment and renovation of public parking lots, the central government will cover 60%, the city will cover 20%, and each district and county will bear 20%. For parking usage subsidies, 60% will be from the central government, 15% each from the city and district/county, and 10% will be covered by self-funding.

Busan City plans to submit a budget proposal for the special account for regional balanced development to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups by the end of April 2025, based on which the project will proceed in earnest.

Busan City has started the public solicitation since January and finalized the project locations through site evaluations and the evaluation committee's review.

The plan is to submit a budget proposal for the special account for regional balanced development by the end of April 2025, followed by the commencement of the projects in 2026. The acquisition of sites for public parking lots and the design and construction will proceed smoothly.

Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “We will enhance the convenience of use by improving the parking environment of traditional markets, which will contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.”
