In preparation for this Chuseok, various discount events have been prepared to promote consumption and stabilize prices. At the 'Busan Online Sale Festa', dedicated Busan sections will be established on Naver, GMarket, 11st, and Dongbaek Mall, offering discount coupons of up to 30%.

Additionally, at traditional markets, when purchasing agricultural, livestock, and seafood products, up to 30% can be refunded through the Onnuri gift certificate refund event, easing the burden on citizens' shopping carts. These events are expected to significantly contribute to the activation of consumption.

The cash back rate for Dongbaekjeon has been decided to expand to a maximum of 13%. In conjunction with this measure, there are plans to support additional policy funds totaling 100 billion won, including 50 billion won for working capital for small enterprises and 50 billion won for small business guarantee agreements.

Additionally, a price response situation room will be operated to monitor price fluctuations of essential items and establish market order through the crackdown on irregular distribution. These measures are expected to contribute to economic stabilization.

Welfare of Sharing: A safety net that prevents caregiving gaps for the vulnerable

To minimize the gaps in social care during the Chuseok holiday, 3.13 billion won worth of donations and goods will be provided to 51,000 households of vulnerable groups, including low-income households, elderly people living alone, and the homeless. In particular, safety check services will be provided for the elderly living alone to prevent emergencies, and free special meals and emergency sleeping arrangements will be supported for the homeless to enhance their safety and welfare. This initiative is an effort to reach out with warmth to neighbors who are left out during the holiday period.

In consideration of the convenience of visitors, the operation hours of the cremation facilities will be extended by two hours. Additionally, the city intends to promote strengthened consultation and protection services for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, youth, and at-risk women. Notably, efforts will be made to prevent the emergence of welfare blind spots by identifying and supporting households vulnerable in housing and energy through an AI-based crisis household identification system.

Citizen Safety: 24-hour disaster response and inspection of multiple facilities

During the Chuseok holiday, the safety of citizens must be the top priority. Busan City is preparing for various disasters through a 24-hour disaster situation room, and special vigilance work will be implemented by the fire department, along with the operation of a special wildfire prevention headquarters.

In particular, thorough inspections will be conducted in advance at 523 multi-use buildings and 11 large-scale events and festivals, which are expected to draw large crowds during the holiday season, and concentrated management will be carried out on 10 facilities at risk for serious citizen disasters. Such preparations are essential for a safe holiday.

To prevent food safety accidents, planned crackdowns on manufacturers and processors of essential goods will be conducted, and safety management of sports and public facilities will also be strengthened. Through these efforts, we aim to create an environment where citizens can enjoy the holiday with peace of mind.

Health Care: Connecting open hospitals and pharmacies with an emergency hotline

To prevent gaps in medical services during the Chuseok holiday, a special response period will be set from October 3 to 9. A total of 38 emergency medical institutions in the Busan area will maintain a 24-hour medical treatment system, and they will be prepared to respond quickly to emergencies through a close hotline with the city hall, health centers, and the fire disaster headquarters.

On the day before and during Chuseok, designated hospitals and pharmacies will operate, which will receive up to 700,000 won in support. Furthermore, the city will maintain a response system for respiratory infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and influenza, along with safety inspections of essential food to protect citizens' health.

Culture and Tourism: Enhancing stay appeal through urban festivals and night tourism

In celebration of the Chuseok holiday, Busan City has prepared various cultural events and tourism programs. Large-scale events including the Busan International Rock Festival and Festival October will take place.

In particular, special routes for the city tour bus and night tourism programs will be operated, and Taejongdae Resort will be open without a break to provide ample entertainment for family tourists.

During the Chuseok holiday, the complex cultural space Domohun will be specially opened, along with free parking and shuttle buses operating from Namcheon Station. Additionally, the local brand store Dongbaek Commerce will launch special gift sets tailored for Chuseok along with discounts of 20-40%, aiming to promote both tourism and consumption simultaneously.

Transportation: Waiving tolls and increasing public transport to alleviate congestion on the way home

To reduce traffic congestion during the holiday period, Busan City has decided to waive the tolls for 7 toll roads from October 4 to 7.

This measure is expected to benefit over 370,000 vehicles daily.

Furthermore, the frequency of express buses and rail services will be increased by 186 trips daily, adding about 23,000 passenger capacity to enhance convenience for those traveling home.

City buses will expand night operations, and 212 additional temporary transport vehicles will be deployed for those visiting graves. Furthermore, 498 temporary parking lots will be opened, and for a limited time, parking will be allowed around traditional markets to facilitate holiday shopping.

Living Convenience: Maintaining 24-hour waste, water supply, and civil service response

image

There is a need for life services to be provided without interruption even during the holiday period. To this end, large-scale cleaning operations will be conducted, and special surveillance on workplaces that discharge environmental pollutants will be strengthened. Additionally, a water supply situation room will be operated 24 hours a day to respond immediately to water supply disruptions or pressure drop issues, and inspections and maintenance of water supply facilities will also be conducted.

Complaints experienced by citizens will be handled promptly to minimize inconveniences during the holiday period.

Operating System: 8 task forces and over 16,000 people will take responsibility on site

Busan City has established comprehensive measures in preparation for the upcoming Chuseok holiday. To this end, 8 task forces have been formed in the areas of administration, disaster prevention, health, transportation, environment, wildfire prevention, water supply, and fire safety, with a total of 16,281 personnel working in the city and its 16 districts.

During the holiday, the Chuseok lifestyle information guide site (busan.go.kr/chuseok) will be operated to easily access information about emergency medical institutions, transportation options, and cultural events.

These measures will help citizens conveniently access information related to medical care, safety, transportation, and culture. Additionally, the comprehensive situation room will respond quickly to various complaints and incidents.
