Busan City has decided to continue the 'Busan Multi-Child Education Support Points' program in 2025 to reduce the educational expenses burden for families raising children.

This program provides 300,000 won annually to families with two children and 500,000 won to families with three or more children, and it is attracting a lot of interest as anyone can apply regardless of income or assets.

This program is supported by the Busan City and Busan City Education Office, and it is particularly characterized by the ease of application through the mobile app 'Dongbaekjeon'.

Eligibility and application conditions

The application requirements for this support program are as follows. First, there must be at least one child born between 2007 and 2018. This refers to children who are of school age in 2025. Additionally, the applicant must have registered residency in Busan for more than three months. If registered as a household member or head of household with the child, they will be prioritized for payment.

Income or assets do not play a role at all, and applications are not accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For example, a household with a college student child and an elementary school child is recognized as having two children and will receive 300,000 won. Additionally, a household that has one high school student and two adult children is considered as having three children and may receive 500,000 won. It is recommended that households meeting these criteria apply for the support funds.

How to apply? Just 3 minutes on the mobile app 'Dongbaekjeon'!

The application period is set from 9 AM on May 22, 2025, to 6 PM on December 12, 2025. Applications can be made through the Busan regional currency app 'Dongbaekjeon' by following these steps.

First, open the Dongbaekjeon app, select the [Policy Fund Application] menu, then click on [Multi-Child Education Support Points], and check and submit the child and applicant information.

If they are in the same household as the child, support will be provided immediately. If they are from separate households, verification will be conducted using a certificate of family relations, and payment will be made sequentially after that. If mobile application is difficult, assistance can be obtained by contacting the dedicated call center (☎1660-2206).

Where can it be used? Limited to education-related expenses

The Busan regional education support points are provided in the form of 'Dongbaekjeon'. This support fund can be used in various places.

Usable locations include local bookstores and major online bookstores such as Kyobo Bookstore, Aladin, Youngpoong Bookstore, and Yes24. Additionally, it can also be used in reading rooms, study cafes, arts and sports education institutions, stationery stores, photocopying and printing shops, and swimming pools related to survival swimming.

However, it is important to note that these points cannot be used at private educational institutions outside of public education, such as private academies for core subjects. Lastly, if not used before December 31, 2025, the points will expire, so be sure to use them within the deadline.

Changes starting in 2025: an easier application process

From this year, qualification checks can be done without submitting documents through the link with public my data.

There is no need to submit a resident registration certificate or family register directly, as qualification will be automatically confirmed with just the consent for providing public my data.

This has significantly shortened the review period and improved the real-time processing speed.

As a result, the inconvenience for multi-child families has been reduced, and the support has become faster.
